British communications firm Orange partnered with GotWind to produce a prototype wind charger for individual electrical needs. The prototype is capable of generating enough power to recharge mobile phone batteries within two hours of plug-in. Orange and GotWind have not placed this colorful windmill on the market yet though it is a product with potential for consumers on the UK festival circuit.

EcoSmart and other green builders want the traveling condo prototype to act as an example for Vancouver’s turn at hosting the Olympics in 2010. The condo does not forge new ground or use a funky new design but it combines dozens of energy-saving tools in one package.
